Bonding & Direct Restorations

Direst Restorative and Dental Bonding For
Every Member of the Family

Life happens. Unfortunately, not many people go through life without some sort of cavity, chipped or broken tooth, or have an old filling that wears out and needs replaced. At Giesler Dental, we use only organically modified ceramic and composite filling materials for our direct filling restorations. Using modern techniques and equipment, Dr. Giesler is meticulous in his preparation and placement of composite restorations. This ensures a final product that not only looks great, but will also last.

Metal Free

Giesler Dental is a metal amalgam free office. We do not place metal amalgam fillings and we take utmost precaution, when at all possible, to safely remove metal amalgam fillings that need replaced. SMART technique with a detoxification protocol is available upon request, and a rubber damn and vacuum is used on almost all patients when replacing metal amalgam fillings. This reduces patient and staff exposure to metal amalgam dust and vapors.

Biological

Most recently Giesler Dental is transitioning out traditional composite materials and switching to organically modified ceramic filling material. This material is highly biologically compatible and is free of today's classic monomers—such as bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol A glycidyl methacrylate (bis-GMA), triethyleneglycol-dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA), etc.

Ozone

At Giesler Dental’s Jasper location, Dr. Giesler utilizes the use of ozone gas to “fumigate” most all prepped teeth for restorations. The ozone helps to eliminate any residual cavity causing bacteria and has a desensitizing effect on the tooth. Dr. Giesler hopes to have this option available in the Petersburg location soon.

Dental Bonding

Ideal for minor cosmetic work, dental bonding is a procedure in which tooth-colored restorative material is used to repair or modify teeth. Chips, small fractures, gaps, etc. can be repaired and esthetics enhanced with bonding.
