The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry says a child should see a dentist within 6 months after the baby’s first tooth appears, or by the time the child turns one. This is important to expose the child to the office environment and the dentist and staff. Laying this important groundwork can greatly improve a child’s ability to have smooth going dental appointments as the years go by.
